For over 40 years, ASW has served the plastics industry. Our rail-served facility in Northeast Ohio is strategically located within a 1 day's drive of more than 70% of the plastics supply chain. Located on the edge of Akron into Mogadore, ASW is positioned in the nation's oldest polymer hub. We are pround members of the region's Polymer Industry Cluster.
BULK TRANSLOADING
Our bulk transloading services transfer product from railcar to truck quickly and efficiently, so that product does not become contaminated. Our on-site truck scale provides weight verification, ensuring that clients receive the correct amount of product. We have a 172-rail car capacity, with daily switches operated by Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway.
DRY BULK PACKAGING
We have dedicated and general packaging stations to handle a variety of plastics including: ABS, PE, PET, PP, PS, and black material. Our flexibility in packaging enables us to directly package from bulk truck or railcar to gaylords, Super Sacks, drums, and 55 lb (25 kg) valve bags. We can also custom re-pack from bulk to smaller bags (and vice-versa).
WAREHOUSING
Whether in gaylords, FIBC's, drums, valve bags, or other containers, we can handle and warehouse your product safely and efficiently. Our warehouse management system (WMS) provides clients with real-time visibility so that they can find the latest inventory information any time of day.

ASW's transloading, packaging, and warehousing services meet ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards. We are verified in Responsible Distribution by the Alliance of Chemical Distributors (ACD), which demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement in every phase of chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal. ACD Responsible Distribution is a mandatory third-party verified environmental, health, safety, security, and sustainability program. Additionally, as members of Operation Clean Sweep, we take care to follow procedures to prevent resin spills and to ensure that in our transloading and packaging processes, plastics do not enter local waterways.

Our entry into the plastics industry begain over 40 years ago as the Gilchrist Polymer Center. We were created to serve as a contract manufacturer for Rubbermaid. Over the years we have been the trusted partner to large and mid-size companies in the plastics industry from manufacturers to distributors within the United States and around the world.
Our location enables us to transport resin efficiently and quickly across the US.
The resin we transload by rail is transported on the largest regional railroad in Ohio with hundreds of miles of track that go throughout the state and into Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West virginia; direct connections to three Class I railroads; and an interchange with over a dozen Class II and Class III railroads.
Trucks transporting our packaged resin have convenient and quick access to under 5 mile drive to Interstate 76; under 20 mile drive to the Akron-Canton Airport; under 50 mile drive to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport; and under 150 mile drive to the Port of Toledo.
