Business challenge:
A leading child car seat manufacturer sought out a 3PL to handle some orders for one of its most popular products. After growth, the client needed to find one partner to handle its entire U.S. distribution channel (including multiple SKU's), both B2B to retailers and B2C to customers' homes. Because of the scale of the operation, the client needed a partner that could provide cost efficiency at scale.
ASW’s solution:
ASW designed a plan for retail distribution and created a tiered pricing model based on orders received, which has controlled costs effectively. ASW also took over returns logistics, to handle normal customer returns and those that are part of the client's end-of-use recycling program.
Execution:
Client initially worked with ASW to process a couple of hundred orders per month. After reaping the benefits of ASW'S partnership, the client asked ASW to handle all of its U.S. distribution. ASW incorporated a tiered pricing structure that provides a discount for the client based on number of orders.
ASW implemented its custom plan to handle U.S. distribution for the client. ASW receives full truck loads of the client's various SKU's on pallets. ASW interfaces with the client's system to receive both retail and consumer orders. Based on the order, ASW ships individual boxes, multiple cases, or full pallets. ASW additionally handles all customer returns. ASW batches the returns and ships them back to the client's headquarters, where they are re-stocked, repaired, or recycled.
